Atlanta 108, Indiana 101 — June 18, 2026
The Atlanta Dream needed every bit of a 13-point second-half cushion on Thursday night, surviving a furious fourth-quarter push from Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell to beat the Indiana Fever 108-101 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Angel Reese powered the win with her 10th double-double of the season, and for the second straight game, Atlanta got it done with balance rather than a single takeover performance.
All five Dream starters reached double figures. Reese led the way with 21 points and 11 rebounds, Jordin Canada added 18, Naz Hillmon and Allisha Gray each scored 17, and Rhyne Howard chipped in 16. It’s the kind of across-the-board production that’s made Atlanta one of the league’s toughest outs this season — there’s no one player to key on, and on this night, that depth was the difference.
The Game
Indiana came out hot, building a 29-24 first-quarter edge, but Atlanta answered with a 34-20 second quarter to seize control. The Dream did that largely without Reese on the floor — she picked up her fourth foul of the half and went to the bench with 5:45 left in the second quarter. Rather than wilting, Atlanta outscored Indiana 19-11 the rest of the half to take a 58-49 lead into the break. Reese came back out for the second half and didn’t pick up another foul the rest of the way.
The Dream pushed their lead to as many as 13 points in the third quarter, riding the same balanced attack that had carried them in the second. But Indiana wasn’t done. Mitchell ignited a 9-0 run for the Fever in the fourth quarter, scoring the first seven points herself — including a 3-pointer that made her the eighth player in WNBA history to reach 700 career made threes. Sophie Cunningham capped the run with a layup that tied the game at 93-93 with 5:07 to play.
That’s when Atlanta’s depth showed up again. The Dream forced Indiana’s 17th turnover of the night and converted it into a fast-break layup to retake the lead at 99-95 with just over two minutes left. Howard scored on Atlanta’s next two possessions to push the margin to 103-97, and Reese put the finishing touch on it, drawing a foul on a layup with 23.1 seconds remaining to complete a three-point play.
Clark had her own complications down the stretch. The Fever star fouled out of normal rotation reps after picking up her fifth personal with 8:41 left in the fourth, returning briefly at the 3:28 mark with Indiana trailing 95-93 — but she didn’t attempt another shot and finished scoreless in the frame. Clark closed the night 8-for-17 from the field with two made 3-pointers, finishing with 26 points, tied with Mitchell for the Fever’s scoring lead. Aliyah Boston added 23 points and eight rebounds for Indiana, just missing what would have been her fifth straight double-double.
It was also a notable night off the floor for Indiana: Clark debuted her new signature shoe, the “Caitlin 1,” in game action — one day after Nike officially announced the fall release. Clark had been teasing the launch on social media in the days leading up to the game.
